Florida Man Stories – May 30
May 30 – Florida Man Throws Tower of Fire At Pan-African Flag Flying 30 Feet
Among the many things the police in Florida find hard to foresee is the kind of cases they’re likely to deal with every day. However, they seemingly are the busiest, based on the peculiarity of the cases brewing from there. Whether it’s trying so hard to break into a suspect’s house, who’s barricaded himself for multiple hours, a speed chase that goes beyond Florida, or a fiery exchange that compels them to remember their training years, there’s always something to wake up to.
This time, things were a little complicated for law enforcement authorities after a man reportedly shot at a Pan-African flag flying 30 feet above the ground in St. Petersburg. The suspect allegedly pulled up in his Honda sedan truck pulled out a flamethrower from his truck, and shot a tower of fire at the flag representing unity and liberty for African people.
The suspect would have continued his ill intentions had a worker from the organization not yelled at him, at which point, he returned the flamethrower to his truck and drove off. Sometimes, when committing such crimes, people tend not to think of the repercussions, probably thinking they will get away. In this case, the man might have just driven off thinking the law enforcement was blind to him and that there was no solid evidence of his actions. But shock on him, the organization produced a video showing his actions and a photo showing the shot flag. All this were going viral online, so the man could not hide for so long.
And sometimes you may wonder the kind of thinking patterns that people have to end up doing such. In this case, the man targeted the Black international socialist group whose mission was to “simply unite African people for liberation, economic development, and self-reliance.” One of the group’s administrators, Akile Akai reminisced about a massive shooting of Black people that had happened in New York a few months before. Akai stated such happenings are a reminder of how low our social system is and how far we are from fully purging oppression, colonialism, and exploitation.

May 30 – Florida Man’s Body Recovered From Lake Missing Three Limbs Might Have Been Attacked By Gators
In Florida, you’re never assured of safety whether on land or the waters. You might be thinking you’re going home for lunch and find a small gator enjoying the toilet water swims or a 10-foot rattlesnake coiling up in your engine. Florida has shown us that not everything has to go as planned. You might take a walk to the beach and be startled that among the people who came for a breeze are men carrying around their necks huge snakes. Talk about the wokeness that that state requires to even be alive and exist.
Among the many wild stories is the case of a man who thought he’d take a quick boat ride to a Florida lake for some discs until he turned into food himself. 47-year-old McGuinness was known to frequent the lake, finding discs and selling them to earn a livelihood. However, a gator might have seen him and spread the word among the gators’ community in the lake. Eventually, when their scheme went through, McGuinness was found dead and missing three limbs. It is not clear though, how the attack went, though and whether the gators got him off the boat.
Alligators are the first suspects in the victim’s death as much as other causes could include drowning and medical issues like seizures, etc. Besides, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission announced they had euthanized two gators from the lake – 8 feet (2.4 meters) long and 10 feet (3 meters) long.
The Largo Police Department spokeswoman promised the concerned teams would ascertain the exact cause of McGuinness’s death in two months. For whatever reason the man got off his boat, he must have had an encounter with the deadly gators to have the missing body parts, either way.
