Florida Man Drives Car into the Ocean Before Swimming to Safety
A 22-year-old Florida man drove off a Miami Beach waterfront park and into the ocean, according to reports, and was drying out behind jail.
Authorities reported that at approximately seven in the morning, Yandeivy Chavez Dominguez was driving his Toyota Corolla through South Pointe Park when he screamed off the walkway and into the lake. Living close to the collision site, eyewitness Andres Asion said, “Maybe it’s an Easter miracle.”
He told the source, “As soon as I realized the car was in the water, I called 911 and let them know where the car was.” “And I was rushing over here to check if anyone else was hurt so I could come to their aid.”
By the time Asion reached the water, Dominguez was swimming in the direction of the shore, and he informed him that nobody else was inside the sinking car.
“It was evident that he wasn’t entirely present,” he continued. “My mind process is that he was inebriated. Many individuals run and walk their dogs in this area every morning, so it’s a blessing that he survived and didn’t kill anyone.
When Miami Beach police arrived on the situation, they were not amused and gave Dominguez a sobriety test. He failed; police arrested and accused the irresponsible wheelman with operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Video that the source was able to obtain showed the damaged sedan being removed from the water, and the clumsy driver being taken into custody and sent to a room at the local jail.WTVJ reports that a $1,000 bond was imposed on him.

Florida Man Shoots His Roommate During a “Vigilance Drill.”
A Volusia County man is facing charges after deputies say he accidently shot a roommate in front of two small children after interpreting the victim’s words as part of a regular series of exercises to “stay vigilant.”
Brad Markey-Perez, 25, was arrested on Tuesday for the March 20 incident at a home on Sixth Street in Orange City. According to an affidavit, Markey-Perez was in his living room when the victim emerged from the kitchen and allegedly stated, “Bro, I could assassinate you right now in the blink of an eye.”
According to the report, Markey-Perez told deputies that he thought the victim was holding something, so he stood up and pointed a revolver at him, accidently hitting the trigger. However, deputies stated the gun safety was turned off, and a round wounded the victim in the jaw.
The roommate was sent to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The roommates agreed that they frequently undertake “drills” to keep vigilant in their surroundings, attempting to get a jump on each other. According to police, the firearms are typically unloaded or employ nonfunctioning bullets. The victim does not wish to seek charges, although the shooting occurred in front of two young children. The mother of the children informed authorities that she had repeatedly urged the men to cease undertaking these “drills.”
Markey-Perez is not charged with the shooting, but he faces two counts of felony child abuse and one count of culpable negligence for firing a gun in front of the children while unaware it was loaded. He was apprehended after detectives acquired a warrant for these offenses, according to the sheriff’s office.
