Florida Man Loses Half of his Skull in Horrific Skateboard Accident

After falling off his electric skateboard and losing half of his skull, a man from Palm Bay is recuperating. Doctors are treating Matt Adkins at Holmes Regional in Melbourne in an effort to lessen brain swelling. Lisa, his mother, has supported him from the beginning and wants other parents to understand the importance of helmets and how quickly a person’s life can change.

When Florida man Matt was riding his skateboard on the sidewalk to a basketball game, the accident occurred close to Willis Street. Regretfully, he never arrived.

“He has made it through. When Matt left at 8:30 a.m., almost four weeks ago, Lisa, Matt’s mother, recalled telling her son she loved him. “I didn’t think he was going to make it,” Lisa said.

For three and a half weeks, her son was kept alive with life support. After the serious injury, he lost half of his head and is just now beginning to move a little.

“He either hit a pebble or something, lost control, just took a tumble and fell,” recalled his mother. “They had to intubate him when the paramedics arrived. He was bleeding both from his head and his ears.”

Lisa claims that up until this event, she had never given her 25-year-old son’s safety any thought because he loved riding his board.

“He’s an adult therefore the answer is no, really not. His age is twenty-five. Lisa remarked, “I didn’t think I had to worry about that.”

After learning about her son’s accident and injuries, she gives a straightforward message: “Ensure that the kids are wearing helmets. It is really significant. You’re completely unaware,” she yelled.

The non-profit Bike/Walk Central Florida is dedicated to putting more helmets on heads and sharing this mother’s message.

“The situation is clear-cut in reality. Helmets prevent fatalities. We are aware of this thanks to studies and a wealth of data. It alludes to it,” said the non-profit’s director of programming, Patrick Panza.

“Get his story out there so that people understand, wear a helmet so hopefully this doesn’t happen to somebody else that you love and care about,” Lisa said.

Although Matt’s mother says she is sharing his tale now in the hopes of saving a life and shielding others from the agony their family is experiencing, Matt’s recovery may take years. As her son’s healing progresses, she is requesting prayers.

Florida Man Pointed a Gun at a Woman as She Attempted to Merge Into Traffic

After he believed she had cut him off, a Florida man shot a woman in her vehicle window with a pistol and was brought into prison.

Following a confrontation within the parking garage of the Orlando Public Library, Javon Jenkins, 24, was placed under arrest on suspicion of aggravated assault using a handgun.

The victim stated that she was in a car with a companion when she entered the traffic lane in front of Jenkins.

Jenkins allegedly started breaking the glass of her car, breaking it on the passenger side. The woman said police she stepped out of her car and confronted Jenkins while wielding pepper spray. Jenkins, she claimed, pulled out a revolver and pointed it at her.

Fearing for her safety, she began spraying in his direction, and police arrived shortly thereafter. Jenkins reportedly told police that he pulled out the revolver to protect himself after feeling threatened. He was arrested, and his gun was turned in as evidence.
