Florida Man Files – April 30
April 30 – Scared Florida Man Calls Cops After Finding Bright Green Iguana Swimming in His Toilet
Can you imagine lifting your toilet lid and finding a bright green creature on its four limbs swimming in there? You’d probably find them in the woods, in busy streets, parks, but a toilet is a wild place to find an iguana.
However, one Florida man was too stunned when he walked up to his toilet and noticed some green creature in there. As he walked close by, it was a freaking iguana, just casually existing in his toilet and probably enjoying the toilet water swim. The man from Fort Lauderdale was confused at first, especially after noticing the green creature was staring back at him. However, he later thought of calling the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission before the agency told him it doesn’t handle such calls. Crazy how the agency simply threw the matter into the scared man’s hands.
Fortunately, he called 911, who responded by getting to the man’s apartment. This is not a type of call they would normally receive, according to Fort Lauderdale Battalion Chief Stephan Gollan but he said, “We are the end-all-be-all.” Firefighter Jeff Kurus who got to the scene used sterile gloves to remove the animal from the toilet and took it into its natural habitat.
The department took pictures of the iguana from the toilet and posted them on social media, with a “Can you imagine lifting the toilet lid and finding this?” The man who had got home for lunch might have not had his food after the incident and emotional rollercoaster he went through.
In yet a similar incident, a man stood up for himself and handled a lizard that had crept into his toilet, rather than calling rescue agencies. He simply coined protective attire, including old ski gloves, a bulletproof vest, and a gas mask, and removed the creature himself.

April 30 – Florida Man Steals from a Cellphone Store and Flips Surveillance Camera
It takes a bold person to walk into a store, steal some goodies, and even attempt to remove proof of his actions. While most burglars come in sneaky and take the shortest time to take the goodies, one Florida man thought of doing the vice and walking up to the surveillance camera to flip it off. Well, that might have been a crazy idea but it at least helped him remain mysterious.
The man, identified only as Hispanic, got the attention of social media after he boldly walked into a cellphone store and took out the cash register and a few items before flipping the security camera. The police didn’t have any information to depend on, except for an account from the store’s staff. According to a report, the man showed up at the store wearing a blank top and sagged blue jeans that showed red underwear. The man was reportedly Hispanic, which led to the cops asking the public to provide information in case they found a man matching the description.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office shared the incident on social media, adding their amazement at the sheer ability of someone to steal items from someone’s business and flip off their security camera. While the Sheriff’s office seemed not to understand that a burglar could have such a thought, it might have just been airing out their frustration at not being able to pin the man down easily.
Security cameras have been a popular evidence of such vices in a long time but burglars are upping their game, apparently. Many stores have these cameras installed on open walls or ceilings where a burglar could see it the first thing they walk into a target area. So, it is not surprising that the man could think in that way, after all.
