May 9 – Florida Man Incarcerated After Stealing Nearly $6K Worth of Sunglasses

People pass by a parking lot for different reasons. While some happen to be just passing by to get to their destination, others are a little intentional and even go peeping through the windows. Later on, they plan their next coup d’etat. Coup, as in looting many thousands worth of sunglasses and having an undeserved business. Well, that has happened in Florida. I mean, where else?

A 19-year-old seemed to have been casually passing around the Coffee Pot Bayou area when he noticed a Mercedes-Benz. Hawk-eyed, Mark Linde noticed a few contents that he went over to take. These were sunglasses and some $200, all amounting to $6,000.The 19-year-old might have thought through the whole gamut of starting a business, including needing liquid money to keep it running.

In wild Florida, we’ve seen men steal in conscious of the camera surveillance, and even flipping it. However, the 19-year-old didn’t mind revealing his face or identity to the cops, or maybe he was too nervous to think about it at the time of looting. Mere sunglasses cannot easily add up to $6,000 except that they are from mighty brands like Fort Laurent, Tom Ford, Chrome Hearts, etc.

Poor Linde didn’t go far from the cop’s radar. The stolen items were restored to their deserved owner as Linde earned a $10,000 bond, two counts of burglary, and marijuana possession. Linde had also tried to break into a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was parked on Locust Street the previous day.

While you thought you’d heard enough of car looting, there’s always something crazier in Florida. A 16-year-old from Florida thought of the unthinkable by stealing an assault rifle from a police car. However, the teen was captured by a surveillance camera, and his face circulated by cops. Fortunately, there were sane people around the suspect who urged him to turn himself in.

May 9 – Florida Man Misses Target in Backyard and Shoots a Woman Sitting in Dining Room

Among the many mistakes you want to avoid is missing a shooting target in public. A Florida man learned the hard way when he tried shooting at his backyard. In a horrible turn of events, the bullet drove through a window and struck a woman sitting in her dining room.

Juan Arreguin set up a bottle stabilized with a packed-down mulch as his shooting target. The weapon used in this case was a Ruger 40S&W handgun. However, what seemed to be a normal day of testing his precision turned horrible when he missed the bottle. The bullet went the wrong way, penetrating through his neighbor’s window.

From the woman’s point of view, she was reclining at her dining table when she heard a crash from the window close to it. Before she knew it, she heard something enter through her right arm and right side.

Police were called to the scene over a possible gunshot case. Upon arrival, they quickly discovered a hole in the woman’s window adjacent to the spot where she was seated. The cops also found a bullet 8-10 feet from where the woman was seated. The 21-year-old victim also told the deputies she heard gunshots coming from the neighbor’s home, which was behind her property. Meaning the shooter had tried other shots before things went south.

Arreguin earned one count of shooting a missile into an occupied dwelling, a felony whereas the victim sustained minor injuries, as established at a local hospital. The police stated in a FaceBook post that the shooting happened near Naples on the Gulf Coast, Florida. Thankfully, the man did not face serious charges as it would have been if the victim had been killed by the shots.
